this is the worst i've ever felt in my life — i lost a loved one

i don't even know how to share this news or what to even say...
one of my baby cats Drake, passed away yesterday.
-
i was woken up by my dad at 6AM yesterday, he told me Drake had puked in my room.
i got up, went into my room, cleaned up his puke and checked on him.
he was sleeping and seemed to be doing fine so i went back to sleep.
i got back up again at around 12ish and when i went into my room this time i heard sounds of one of my cats trying to puke.
i searched around for Drake and found him trying to puke in his sleep and i instantly picked him up.
there was no resistance in his body. his body was just hanging and he was super weak but he was still breathing.
i screamed for my mom and dad and ran down to my car to take him to a vet and as soon as i got into my car he passed away.
he passed away as i was holding him.

i refused to accept what just happened and i drove my car to the vet holding Drake in my right hand.
i reached the vet, ran up to the clinic and put him on the table and asked the vet to see if he's still alive and the vet said he's no more.
i picked him up, came back to my car and cried my lungs out holding him in my hands.

every single memory i had of him kept flashing in my head as i sat there crying with his body in my hands.
all this happened suddenly. he had no symptoms or any active diseases. he played with me at 1.20 AM the previous night and seemed completely active and fine.
i have no clue what happened but all i know is that i'm living in a reality where he's not with me anymore and nothing is the same anymore

he was unlike any other cat i've ever seen in my life. he would greet all my friends who'd come home to meet me. he'd always stay up in the nights till i went to sleep. even as i sleep he always used to sit in front of me and watch me sleep. he'd make sure that i have no personal space. he'd loved me with all his heart.

i'm super scared because Drake has a brother named Travis who currently has no idea as to why Drake is not around and i'm scared for my life as to how his absence will affect him.
